The ex-husband of a JW woman, who was murdered along with her two children by her JW husband, apparently persuaded the parole board to turn down Jeffery Anderson's bid for parole. Evidently the Society and the local elders were indirectly responsible for the triple murder because of having counseled the abused wife to return to her psychopathic, child-molesting husband. Dutifully following the elder's counsel resulted in her murder and the murder of her children.

In what could be a landmark decision, a Riverside, California, judge has ruled against Jehovah's Witnesses elders refusing to testify in an ongoing child molestation case. Judge Paul Dickerson's legal ruling states: "In this case, the judge said, the elders' duty was to determine guilt and to protect the congregation, not to keep the communications under wraps."
